sharing a laughter moment with my daddy!
one of the best lines in the movie!
A good script is what explains how the movie enrols throughout, this one is definitely one of the best movies ever made in the cinema industry. Well done to Gabriel Muccino, an impressive Italian director who worked his way up in the industry from merely countable short films to being one of the highly recognized American Filmmaker. Apparently, this also happens to be his debut English film and wow, didn't he just produce a script that will go down memory lane for years to come!
The entire film is based on entrepreneur Chris Gardner's nearly one-year struggle being homeless. This will definitely be one Will Smith's best movies ever, a masterpiece act on screen and it was so good that he was nominated for Academy Awards and a Golden Globe for best actor. I am huge follower of Will Smith because I strongly perceive him as one of the faces of Hollywood. The amount of intensity and dedication he brings on screen is almost incomparable to anyone in the Hollywood. Pure, genuine and realness is what describes Will Smith's presence on screen and never to forget, the emotions that evolves around him brings chills almost all the time. You will notice that not only the visuals will spark much positivity and values to human lives, but the dialogues will indicate how important it is not to GIVE UP in life now what shit gets thrown at you!
A father-son relationship was well pitched in this brilliant movie and the chemistry between the two was close to flawless, well for a simple reason it could be because his very own son, Jaden Smith, co-starred in this, playing Christopher Gardner. This is Jaden's debut film and I have to say, the young boy had a great say in this playing a pivotal role and his act was seamlessly integrated in the film. We know how frustrating it can be for young kids if they fail to get what they want, especially living with parents who can merely afford a cotton candy at times due to financial difficulties! Will Smith's wife, played by Thandie Newton who also had put on a great act as his wife, but more of a bad mother I would say. His relationship with his wife erodes to a point where she was not able to accept the fact that Will Smith agreed for an intern stockbroker for several months. I mean, come on, who wouldn't be disappointed over such a matter! But nevertheless, it was his courage and never give up attitude that provoked a sense of braveness to allow his wife to leave when she decides to.
The entire plot developed excellently and it was so heartwarming seeing the pain a father goes through just for the gain of his son's well-being. At times, while witnessing some highly controversial scenes in the movie, it makes me to pray that no father in this earth should go through the routine troubles that Will Smith goes through. It was so painful but yet he was so patient, but of course throwing tantrums and the ugly side was revealed at times. It is totally normal to feel such as we are all normal human beings and not God, so we surely are entitle to feel the way we want to.
The movie will also explain how he manages his daily expenses, and the one way would be him investing his lifetime savings in portable bone density scanners, which he uses to demonstrate it to doctos and pitches as a handy quantum leap over standard X-Rays.
As an intern stockbroker, Will Smith portrayed a true workmanship, dedication, passion and most importantly the energy that he brought to the company was absolutely amazing! He was quick and steadfast in making calls especially big timers just so to capture a lifetime opportunity which may come knocking on your door ones. He made full use of his tenure there as intern. He even had diffulties having a consistent pay mark for all his commitments and it was just flushing down the junk! He kept going and he was even jailed for a day for failing to pay up his parking summons which he has been accumulating for months!
It was the day to decide if Chris stays put at the company for a full time paid position as a stockbroker or get his ass kicked out waving goodbye! He probably had the least confidence compared to the rest of his competitors and he was well dressed thinking it would be his last, and therefore decides to at least impress his fellow managers on his last day. The moment you hear words like "You have to wear this tomorrow Chris because you have just got the job as a full time paid position Stockbroker". WELCOME ABOARD CHRIS!
The emotions that poured out from Will Smith was so good that words could merely describe it. It was an award-winning act man! So good that it made me to tear guys! Probably the most touching scene of the entire movie and what better way to cap it off when he runs heading to the daycare to embrace his son. It was extremely heartwarming.
Ending on a positive note is what's healthy and this just had it all. Seeing the father and son walk down the street joking with each other reminds me of my days as a kid being pampered by my dad. hmmmm.... Will Smith may have gone through all the roughs and tears in life that was shown in this movie, he may even have failed as a husband, a bad American citizen for the multiple faults he committed, but you have to remember that he never FAILED AS A DAD FOR HIS SON. Hats off for Will.
