Geostorm

Scintillating, mind-blowing, exceptional and it’s definitely one of those Gerard Butler movies that will keep you at the edge of your seat. I can’t really recall a similar exciting moment in the past coming out of a Sci-Fi movie. So much energy, character and emotions were placed brilliantly throughout the whole movie. Massive credits to Dean Devlin for such an impressive script. It was so clever that the special effects played such pivotal role that dialogues, actions or any form of human connections wouldn’t have matter. Such a brilliant piece!

Playing the lead role, Gerard Butler as Jake Lawson also known as the ever-famous satellite designer, spices up the script with his ever-versatile acting pattern. He is one of those actors that puts on a great show regardless the role he plays, and I have to say this should be one of his best, undoubtedly!

The movie starts off with a voice-over of a little girl, precisely describing past catastrophic natural disasters that endangered mankind and the failure to survival. This movie will clearly remind us all what natural insanity is all about and the repercussions if things go wrong especially when it involves global satellite system.

It was so brilliantly penned down and you’ll see network of satellites designed to control the global climate start to attack earth, and it’s a race against the clock to uncover the true culprits behind this unpleasant scenario. Exceptionally mind-blowing acting by all the casts in this movie especially identifying the real threat before a worldwide geostorm appears and wipes out anything and everything on earth.

In the midst of a typical Sci-Fi patterned movie, you will see how critically important it is to stay united regardless having a feud with one another. This was shown clearly when Jake Lawson (Gerard Butler), the estranged elder brother to Max Lawson (Jim Sturgess), were tasked together with solving the program’s malfunction before the catastrophic geostrom erupts which will certainly engulf the planet.

Another cast that impressed me so much would be Abbie Cornish, who played as Sarah Wilson, fiancé to Max Lawson. She was the very definition of women authority, the voice of feminism and how she dominated the entire movie playing the role of a secret service agent was so cool and yes, she was HOT!

Gerard Butler, who’s also known as the Dutch Boy, who’s service and satellite management intelligence was much needed when things went wrong. I simply enjoyed the scene in the court where Butler was centred and was rudely interrogated by the senator and of all the accusations that thrown at him. With that being said, I even further enjoyed and was so much impressed when he countered boldly against the senator without giving a piece of respect, and wow how well was profanity allowed in the court. Reasons why I admire Butler so much.

On an overall view, an excellent movie that deserves massive credits, especially for the special effects used and the pitch perfect storyline that hugely derived malfunctions on a whole new level, relating back to the satellite global systems. One learning outcome, no matter how deconstructed mankind become or even its human qualities, the call for unity to repair a damage that promises an insane threat to mankind is a must and it was well proven in GEOSTORM! A must watch for all Sci-Fi fans!
