Logan

Logan & Laura in the climax scene

Undoubtedly the best Marvel movie ever made thus far, well at least to how I perceive it. Mixed feelings poised all over when truly anticipating this one, knowing the fact that it will be the very last time witnessing Hugh Jackman as the Wolverine. Saddened over the fact that there will be no more clawed Jackman on screen, but extremely mind blown with the way the movie was presented. James Mangold tremendously blew critics away with a stunningly scripted LOGAN! The movie takes an unusual beginning and it was year 2029 where there has been no mutants born in 25 years. Logan's healing ability slowed and his body has begun to age and he started spending most of his time drinking and worked as a limo driver in Texas.

I have got to admit, regardless looking aged, bruised and portraying a sick man face, Jackman still had it all in him, the never fading style, professionalism and the character that he constantly carries with him with total dominance, integrity, passion and dedication. Unlike any other Superhero film, Logan surprises you with how a mutant's lifespan starts to fade and the pattern of cinematography may take a toll on the audience but it is definitely one not to be missed. Logan, who works day and night as a limo driver spends his days with Caliban (a mutant tracker) caring for Charles Xavier/Professor X.

Just when you thought things were moving at a slow pace, the movie had more reasons for fans to sit back and relax and enjoy and it definitely glued each one of the fans when an unknown, mysterious young mutant appears! Laura, very much like Logan, is known to be a cloned mutant that shares same blood with him, and she resembled every single way Logan behaves and most importantly, her actions spoke louder than words. The very same aggression, enthusiasm, speed, instant healing ability, acceleration, well Laura simply had it all. If there's one thing that anyone could ever sense or highly relate to after watching this movie is the EMOTIONAL part of it. How often do you witness a Marvel Film taking a ride on an emotional playground that strongly affects the audience? Logan had to just be it.

The end of an era is probably the best catch phrase to be used describing how Logan unfolds. Logan, who was very much not happy to have Laura around knowing that his attentions may take a massive toll on him for a simple fact because of Charles Xavier's unwell state, but it was otherwise on how Charles was perceiving the moment.

If there's one element in the movie that totally impressed me was when Laura portrayed a younger Logan in terms of stern, strict, close to emotionless behavioural act. She lived the role she played, and she was simply the bomb, and I have to boldly admit that Laura and Logan could probably be the best MUTANT combo ever in history regardless Logan's slowly dying state.

Action scenes were total brutal and yes, it is never for the weak - hearted but the emotional scenes just killed it. A regenerated X-24 is one to look out for and it's prime goal is to engage Logan and it did manage to put him in a mess. It was looking very much like a cloned version of Logan and it's power was extremely irresistible and it was able to withstand any form of attack thrown at it.

The climax of this X-Men movie brought it to a whole new level, and just when you thought Logan was just dying and dying and never to put a fight back, he gets reenergised with some form of mutant power and his levels raged high. Attacks after attacks, it seemed like witnessing the WOLVERINE that's been revived.

The most painful part of the movie is when Logan takes an eternal rest and what better way to do it than lying flat on Laura's lap. Laura weeps tears finally and Logan as well, as they both shared some real father-daughter moment. That moment summed up the 17 years of WOLVERINE reign and probably the best X-MEN Marvel has ever had. As Laura departs from Logan who has been  been laid in the grave at the Eden, she turns around what seemed to be a cross sign and made it into an X sign! A moment for all X-Men fans to realise that there will only be one WOLVERINE and his name is Hugh Jackman!
